Set up in 2003 by local people, for local people, we aim to promote and encourage the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and groups across Skelmersdale. Recognising that food is an excellent tool to engage with people, traditionally we focused on healthy eating but we now also offer a wider portfolio of wellbeing activities covering a range of issues and lifestyle factors.
Here at SCFI we believe cooking on a budget doesn’t have to mean missing out on good quality, wholesome meals. We offer practical cooking sessions in groups or on a one to one basis and work closely with food-banks and other voluntary organisations.
People of all ages are welcome to our current programme of events and we can customise our activities further to help meet the needs of the community. Willing volunteers are always welcome to help us inspire local people to make healthier lifestyle choices.
